When a skin tag first appears, most folks do
not realize what it is. They grow rather increasingly concerned as
the skin tag grows so does their fear. Getting rid of skin tags
becomes the forethought each day. Not that a skin tag is medically
dangerous, but that it is unsightly that drives most thoughts after
the person finds out
that it is relatively
harmless.
Good News!
You do not have to accept that you have skin
tags. You can change things around for yourself and renew your
confidence and generally feel better about your appearance, not to
mention you will be able to stop thinking about getting rid of skin
tags.
There are several different options that you
can choose. You can go
to see a dermatologist, who will remove the skin tags for you. This
of course is not a free service; you will have to pay for the
office visit and for the procedure. If you can afford it, because
your health insurance will not likely pick up much of the charge,
than this may be a great option for you.
Not being able to afford extravagant doctors
fees does not mean that getting rid of skin tags is out. There are
plenty of home remedies that you can use to get rid of skin
tags.
Things to Try at Home
There are over the counter preparations that
you can purchase that are made specifically for skin tag removal.
This is typically chemical compounds that can be used on warts and
moles as well.
Most of the over the counter options are
less than twenty dollars to purchase and work under one of two
principles. Either they work to freeze off the skin tag, or they
work using a mild acid that will cause the skin tag to shrivel up
and die.
These preparations are easy to use and are
very effective when you follow manufacturer’s
recommendations.
Of course there are other home remedies that
you can use and you will not have to in most cases purchase
anything.
Polish Your Tag
You can use nail polish to polish the tag
and it will shrivel up and fall off after a few weeks. You can use
clear nail polish which will suffocate the tag. You can also use vinegar to get
the same results. A couple of other agents include, castor oil
mixed with baking soda into a paste and plain
alcohol. Cover
the skin tag two or three times a day with any one of theses
agents, cover with a band aid and getting rid of skin tags
will be a breeze.
