Of course this is the most expensive remedy for a condition that is usually just a cosmetic issue, a lot of folks simply can not justify the one hundred to two hundred dollar fee to remove each skin tag.

 

 

At Home Remedies

 

There is a slew of advice on how to remove skin tags, most of it is good sound advice that works well, some of it is outlandish. Any home remedy should be approached with caution.

 

It is important that you consider where the skin tag is when you are choosing your home remedy method. For example there is a home remedy that requires mixing baking soda with castor oil and applying it to the skin tag three times a day, the skin tag will eventually shrivel up and fall off, this is not the best remedy if you have a skin tag near your eyes.

 

There is also a home remedy that uses vinegar soaked in a cotton ball and applied to the tag three times a day, again near the eyes is a definite no-no for this remedy, but it is perfectly acceptable for other areas of the body.

 

There are some over the counter remedies as well, that are made for at home use to remove skin tags and warts. Basically these remedies contain either an acid that burns the tag off over time, or it has freezing properties and freezes the tag off, in either case the preparation is safe if you follow the package directions.

 

You can snip off the skin tag with either a nail clipper that you have disinfected or a  pair of small sharp scissors, this remedy will result in a bit of bleeding, so be prepared to apply pressure to stop the bleeding.

 

Many folks simply prefer the home how to get rid of skin tags remedies, because they can not afford to have them removed in the doctors office. Home remedies are a great alternative as long as you follow the correct procedures and use sterile instruments. If the site becomes inflamed or infected it is best to follow up with a medical professional.
